OOTD: Midi Black Dress

I'm not much of a dress kind of girl but I've turned 25 last week and I feel like it's time for me to add
a couple classic numbers to my closet. This dress makes me feel more feminine because of how body-con it is and because of the midi lenght but at the same time it feels really comfortable and easy to wear because it's just a simple jersey dress (I've also got it in a more everyday casual version in this blueish/greyish colour). While I'm not much of a jewellery person either, to make this look more interesting I've added lots of rings, a cuff and a choker.

OOTD: Fashions Fade, Style is Eternal (GFW 2013 throwback)

Graduate Fashion Week 2015 is coming to an end today, but before I show you what I wore this time (only attended 1 day, catwalk photos are on my instagram @magdarling) I figured it would be a good opportunity for me to show you one of my outfits from GFW two years ago.

Why would I post such an old outfit now you might ask. Well the main reason is that I'd still wear the same look today exactly how I did it then, which in turn makes me want to talk about the trends
versus style debate. Yves Saint Laurent once said that "Fashions fade, but style is eternal." and I couldn't agree more. I'm all for new trends and I'm not afraid to try new things but I'd never blindly follow new trends if they weren't something I liked or something that would suit me. I know what I like and what looks good on me and whenever I buy something new I make sure it's something that will fit in with my already existing wardrobe even if it's a bit of an experiment for me. All this means that I wear and love my new clothes pretty much as much as clothes I got 2, 3, 4 or even 5 years ago. All I'm saying is: Enjoy fashion but always stay true to yourself, it will lead to less impulse buying and clothes that you actually wear and not just keep at the back of your closet.
